TIY (Tag-It-Yourself) System Replaces In-Person Weigh-In

Updated: May 26, 2020

The 2020 Lamb, Goat, and Hog Weigh-In will NOT take place in person this year (was scheduled for Saturday, June 13th) due to the COVID-19 concerns and regulations put in place by the Governor of Virginia. Instead, we will be implementing a Tag-It-Yourself system. Please read below for all information:

Packets:

Each exhibitor/family will be able to pick up a TIY (Tag-It-Yourself) packet starting June 1, 2020 that includes: TIY procedure and instructions, tagging and vaccination instructions, RFID tags for each animal, FairEntry summary on animals submitted by each exhibitor, and a help contact sheet. The tags must be in the animal’s ear and an online survey must be completed by July 1, 2020.

The Rockingham Extension Office is currently closed to the public. However, our front lobby is open and accessible. We will be placing all packets in this lobby, in totes alphabetized by last name. Due to the number of tags and exhibitors in your family, you may have several packets! Whoever is picking up the packet for the exhibitor will have to sign for it as well. Packet pick-up will be available on June 1st, 3rd, 8th, 10th, 15th, 17th, 22nd, 24th, and June 29th from 9AM-3PM.
